It’s been a while

Yes, it’s been ages since I last wrote one of these things. I guess now would be a good time, seeing as I just got back from Sydney yesterday! D

I’ve never been to Sydney before, so it was a new experience for me. It’s weird, I’d been to Brisbane a few times, the capital of another state, but never the capital of my own. P

Anyway, we left on Friday at 6:00 in the morning. Just like my friends warned me, the first three hours are slow, then the next three are really fast. We got into Manly (the suburb where we stayed) at about 11 or 12.

I kinda like cities, for the walking around part. You don’t actually need to drive around to get places like you do here in Coffs. While we were there, we didn’t use the car once. …Except for entering the city, and exiting of course.

We caught the ferries a heap while we were there. They take about half an hour to cross the harbour. I love the sea… I’m a pirate! D No motion-sickness for me. Never. As well as ferrires, we had to catch a million trains to get around the city, from Circular Quay to Central, Newtown, Bondi… On the sunday, I realised something very special about the trains… The seats move! :O Claire always gets really annoyed when she has to travel backwards. I found out that you can change the seats around, and not travel backwards. I don’t think she knows that yet, and I’m not going to tell her until she gets back. Her annoyance shall be fun to watch… I still have all ferry and train tickets, except the ones that the machines ‘captured’… everywhere. I really didn’t like Central Station’s pigeon killing policy. There were spikes on all of the arches and roofs of the buildings, and on top of the signs (They wouldn’t actually have killed the pigeons, but hey). I could tell they were dangerous. There were feathers on them! :O

The shopping there was terrible. There were shops there, but not much in there. It was all fairly expensive. It was really frustrating, traveling all that way everyday to return with nothing at all. Only on Sunday afternoon when I was with Ash did I actually find something. A pirate book! D
It was great seeing Ash again, but I don’t think that one hour was enough time to spend with someone who I hadn’t seen for over a year.

We went to see Mac’s house on Sunday morning before going to Bondi. It was great. ) There were teabags hanging off the door to the garden, and paperclip chains hanging off the stairs. It was wonderful… Mac and Rachel each use 15 milk crates under their beds, which they grabbed from outside the shops around the place. They’ll return them later… *shifty eyes*

Well, I had a pretty good time down. Now I can say I’ve been there and saw the pigieons! D I’ll post photos up soon.
