As promised, here is the Astro Boy entry. In case you didn’t read my last entry in which I made said promise, here’s the explantion.

For the last three years, the Coffs Harbour Anime Society (a club I go to) have been selling raffle tickets for a large, silver Astro Boy statue, a collector’s item that was originally purchased for $200 AUD, and now out of production. A few weeks ago, they finally had enough money to balance the cost of the prize, so the raffle finally took place.

The point is, I won! I don’t know how, but I did! So, here is a picture of the prize, as promised. It has made itself at home with Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop.

Just in case you were wondering, no, I am not dead. I’m a bit lazy, and a bit inundated with school work, but that’s all. (The school work hasn’t even been that bad, I’m probably just getting worse at handling it. )

So anyway, I thought I’d provide a long overdue update. Perhaps I can split it into a few separate entries… Here is the first, a basic list!

Basic Updates

At the moment I am or very recently have been (in no particular order of importance):

• Officially sick of English at school. – What is the point of studying our primary language to the extent that we do? Not all of us want to be journalists/critics/writers/poets etc. Extensive analysis skills of English texts is useless to most students. You need to communicate and use language in any job, but it isn’t necessary past year 10.
• Wanting to drink Mountain Dew right now – Luckily, there are two bottles in the fridge, and two more in the cupboard.
• In the process of building a Home Theatre PC (HTPC) – I’m almost there. I have an old CPU (that hopefully works), a new 1TB HDD, DVD drive, DDR2 RAM that I can spare from my main PC, a spare PSU, a few old cases to choose from, and an AGP graphics card (that I won’t be using for it). I just need to get that new Micro ATX motherboard I was looking at, and get a cheap PCIe GPU. That’ll do for a while.
• Developing software for an assessment in SDD (Software Design & Development) at school. It is called LC Organiser (Lightning Core Organiser).
• Making use of my replacement 750GB HDD.
• Making use of cheap PC components that I bought from a friend. – Including two working 80GB SATA1 HDDs, that were supposedly “dead”.
• Pushing Aviator Friday forward.
• Promoting Trillian Astra a bit, just because it’s awesome.
• Using Twitter a bit
• Neglecting my blog (except for right now)
• Creating more schemes
• Debating whether a Wii or DSLite should be obtained. – I’ve now settled on a DS.
• Watching Kyle XY
• Watching Gundam 00 Season 2
• In ownership of a large silver Astro Boy (that will be presented in a future entry)
• Making use of a USB 2.0 hub/cup warmer.
• Out of ideas for extra additions to this list.

I think that’s everything at the moment. I’ll have to write a few more things very soon, before I get out of the blogging frame of mind.
