DOOM JUICE! =D

April 23rd, 2009 by Lachy

Today is magical. The reason: Doom Juice.

Doom Juice, is Invader Zim energy drink, only available in the US. The on I found was supposed to be blu-raspberry flavour. I came across it one day on the Internet, and have since been preparing schemes in order to get me some. I made a post about it on ST too. [Link]

Anyway, the most recent scheme is a success! :D About six months ago, some of my friends from my old school, BDC, were participating in a program called USA Today. Even if I were still at the school, I wouldn’t have joined them due to it costing $5000 AUD… I suddenly found out that they were in Sydney the night before they left for America, so I sent them a last minute SMS to request Doom Juice, and Breaker Pro for PS1. When they got back, I found out that one of my requests had been fulfilled. the Doom Juice had been obtained! The person responsible for this is my friend, Sambeast. He is now awesome. :)

Doom Juice - In Australia

Doom Juice - In Australia

This could possibly be the only can currently in Australia. Perhaps even the only can ever to come to Australia. It’s impossible for us to purchase it here in Australia due to corn syrup being illegal in food products.

So, to continue expressing just how great this is (and to pull you away from staring at the can…), I will say that I have not yet tasted it. Instead I am fulfilling a promise to Dalton, and waiting to open it in front of everyone tomorrow at a friend’s 18th birthday. So, until then, it is safely stored in the back fridge. :) I suspect that it will still be blue-raspberry flavour, but there is a possibility that it could be diferent, seeing as the design on the can is different to the picture I found initially.

So, until tomorrow when I taste it, I cannot say anymore. I hope it all goes well.

Ciao. :)

I have returned after Enya’s Birthday :)

April 23rd, 2009 by Lachy

I have been inactive for a little while, partly because I have been organising and executing schemes for Enya’s 18th birthday. :) I have just returned from travelling for a short time, with Enya. I got back on Monday afternoon, after staying in a rented house in Byron Bay for four nights. I thought you may like to know how it was. :)

Party #1 – The Movie Night

I’ve been planning Enya’s birthday for a while, I wanted to make her feel special, as I do. :) So, I planned an evil plot, to arrange a movie night (For her, although she didn’t know at the time. :P ). I planned a Dragon Ball movie night for April 11 (6 days before her birthday), at which we would watch the five Dragon Ball movies with friends. They included the new live-action Dragon Ball Evolution, (which was atrocious :P ), and the four animated Dragon Ball movies, Curse of the Blood Rubies, Sleeping Princes in Devil’s Castle, Mystical Adventure and Path to Power (Although we never got to start the last one).

It was great fun, while people arrived, we watched some Cardcaptor Sakura, followed by X, until everyone was there, 11 in total. At that point, Enya was unaware of the plan, though  the scheme was almost revealed due to some comments from parents about a “birthday girl”, but luckily they were covered up hastily. :P After we watched the live action movie, we decided it was time to get some snacks, as the surprise cake was nearing completion. ;) After we gathered Enya into the kitchen, the cake was revealed, and Enya, almost in tears received the shock of her life as we sang the usual Happy Birthday song to her. Or rather, they sang, and I held her there in case she escaped. :P The hilarious part that I pointed out came soon after the eating of the cake, as Enya happily stood in front of the cupboard in the corner. A few people then came out bearing gifts, without realising that they had in fact backed Enya into the corner. :P She was literally speechless, she couldn’t even manage to say just that, as people normally just use that as a figure of speech. This was true lack of speech. ;)

After we’d finished watching Curse of the Blood Rubies, we decided it was time to make dinner, pizza. :) Due to some confusion with the can opener, and the eventual breaking of the can opener, we had to employ some alternative methods to open the can of pineapple. These methods were:

  1. Still using the can opener, but using pliers to turn the wheel instead of the broken handle. I’m sure it would have worked fine, if the so-called “Food Tech students” hadn’t complicated the matter by using the device at the top of the can, and managed to cut not the lid, but the side of the can. After attempting to correct it, and yet another Food Tech student making the original mistake again, we became sick of it, and Dalton introduced method number 2.
  2. Method number 2 takes place after the side of the can, just below the rim had been cut a certain amount. Dalton then grabbed the pliers, sick of the confusion, and ripped the rim of the can upwards. It worked pretty well actually. We just had to pour the pineapple out the top of the opening. Luckily, they were pineapple pieces, and not slices, which would have made it much more difficult.

So, in order to cut the rest of the long story short, we watched the remaining movies, except the Path to Power, exchanged snacks and some Easter gifts and went home. (I summed that up pretty well. :P )

Party #2 – Four days at Byron Bay

Well, time for another description of fun. :) I’ll keep this one short, especially after the last one. :P

So anyway, we departed on Friday for Byron Bay, where nine of us would be staying for four days in a rented house on the river, about 100m from the beach. It was good fun, we went canoeing, watched Black Books, Season 7 of Friends, went to the beach, went to the Lighthouse (The most eastern part of Australia. We were further forward in the future than any other Australian at that time. ;) ), and ate out at breakfast places and such. :)

Rather than continuing to speak about these sorts of things, I might just leave it there. :) The point is, it was great fun, and we really enjoyed ourselves. It’d be nice to do it again. :)

Well, that concludes my description of Enya’s birthday, and the various schemes involved. :P Those schemes were great fun… Time for yet another entry! Though, this one hasn’t been delayed. :P

Ciao! :)

FireFox – Personas

April 10th, 2009 by Lachy

Has anyone else tried the Personas plugin for FireFox yet? It’s basically a light-weight theme switcher in Firefox, that allows you to easily switch between themes and acquire new ones in a second. I really like this, it’s much faster and easier on the eyes than those bulky themes you have to download and install individually.

You can get it here: http://www.getpersonas.com/

The other goo dhting is when you’re browsing through the list of personas in the Tools menu, your browser automatically previews the highlighted persona. ;) The same thing applies while viewing the site’s gallery too. :)

Anyway, if I’m going to go on raving about how good this plugin is, how could I not show a screenshot of it in use? Here it is: (You can’t go wrong with Hitsugaya. :) )

FeedBurner

April 6th, 2009 by Lachy

I’ve just set up a FeedBurner account for my blog, though I have no idea if it’s working or not. I’ve also set up the FeedSmith widget which should redirect my normal RSS feed to feedburner, but I’m not sure how it’s suppsoed to operate and appear. So far I’ve got 0 subscribers in my FeedCount, even though a few people definitely have subscribed through FeedBurner itself.

I’m not sure about FeedSmith, whether it will count people who have already subscribed or not. I wish it wasn’t so confusing… :( To make it easier for me, please subscribe to to my new FeedBurner RSS feed. http://feeds2.feedburner.com/LachysBlog?format=xml

Thanks. :) Well, it’s back to studying for my software exam tomorrow for me.

Ciao.

Aviator Friday

April 3rd, 2009 by Lachy

I thought I’d better update my blog before it becomes Saturday, I almost forgot. :P

As you may have guessed from the title, today is Aviator Friday, or Awesome Fighter Pilot Friday. This is a special event created by myself and my friend Matt Matt, which takes place every Friday. On this special day, you are given the prime opportunity to wear your aviators (sunglasses), and feel awesome. Aviators are pretty awesome, you must admit. :)

If you don’t have any aviators, I would highly recommend you get some, they’re good fun. :) Get some and join in. ;)
